Reflection on who we are as learners and our 3-Way Conferences

I have to start by expressing how proud I am of our EY2 learners. The 3WC this week was evidence of their maturing minds in understanding how to see themselves as (lifelong) learners.

Leading up to the 3WC the children were fully immersed in play, practice, and reflections. Their energy and engagement were motivating to see. While combining the objectives of our two units, Who we are, and How we express ourselves, the children were invited to work in either a small group with a teacher who would model or guide specific skills or they were encouraged to ask for and engage with the resources they found interesting. At the same time, each child had an individual 'chat time' with the classroom teacher to elicit their thinking and scribe their poster comments. The accuracy with which most of them were able to place or judge themselves was a pleasant surprise.

A few days before the 3WC's the children were keen to practice and share their work with their teachers, buddies, and peers.

While sharing to our peers, the children were given the objective to apply what they have learned about being good communications (presenters and listeners). with the goal to try to recall one thing they learned about a friend.

Huge congratulations to EY2 students for their
effort and achievements at the conference.
